Partners for Children South L.A. is pleased to announce the appointment of three individuals to its inaugural Board of Directors:
Jacqueline Chun
Associate Director
Center for Strategic Partnerships
LaJoi McClendon
Chief Operating Officer
Stone Tapert Insurance Services
Mark Soto
Deputy City Attorney, Public Rights Division
Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney
These three outstanding individuals form the foundation for PCSLA’s governing board and will be joined by other committed individuals in the coming months. The new board was established as part of PCSLA’s recent transition from operating under a fiscal sponsorship model during its first decade to becoming an independent nonprofit organization. The move to nonprofit status will enable PCSLA to expand its infrastructure and fundraising to meet increasing needs in South Los Angeles communities.
PCSLA’s Executive Director, Liza Bray, shared her excitement about the new organizational status and board members, “Becoming independent and forming our board has opened up the world to us in terms of opportunity. This means more community impact, more children and families served, and fully realizing our mission.”
PCSLA is continuing to recruit passionate, qualified board members. For more information, please contact Liza Bray at lbray@partners4childrensla.org.
